Senior four candidates arrested after beating other students as a sign of bidding them farewell

Police in Sheema district have arrested seven students at Nganwa High School for inciting violence.

The arrested have been identified as; Prosper Nuwasharamu, 18-year-old, (S.4), Roden Andinda, 18 (S.4), Owen Nganzi, 18, (S.4), Timothy Kato, 18 (S.4) Allan Akandwanaho, 19 (S.4), Saul Nuwasiima, 17 and Samuel Matama.

It is said that it has been a tradition at the school, where senior four students are beaten by students, from the rest of the classes, as a way of bidding them farewell.

The spokesperson further noted that seven ring leaders of the clash have been identified and arrested.

During the fights, two students sustained injuries and were rushed to Sheema Hospital for treatment.

These include; Benon Aruho, a 19-year-old, senior four student and Mustafa a senior five student.
