Leading By Example: Makerere Starts Issuing Transcripts Before Graduation
In a groundbreaking move towards facilitating the early entry of graduates into the job market, Makerere University has initiated the practice of issuing transcripts to graduands ahead of their formal 74th graduation ceremony scheduled for January 29th.
The announcement was made by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Barnabas Nawangwe, who expressed satisfaction in delivering on the institution’s commitment to providing valuable resources to its students. Prof. Nawangwe commended the Academic Registrar and the dedicated team for their efforts in implementing this progressive measure.
“We have kept our promise and started issuing transcripts to our graduands before the graduation ceremonies that commence on 29th January 2024. I thank the Academic Registrar and his team for a job well done,” stated Prof. Nawangwe.
This move by Makerere University reflects a proactive approach to address the needs of its graduating students, acknowledging the competitive nature of the job market. By issuing transcripts in advance, graduands are afforded the opportunity to commence job searches and pursue career opportunities promptly upon completion of their academic programs.
This website has established that the School of Law will come first in line in the issuance of the transcripts because they (school) submitted their graduation list before other colleges.
